Benefits

Living above the Great Barrier Reef for six months is a pretty unique benefit, but you’ll also be well-paid – a salary package of AUD$150,000 (+/- 80.000 euros) for a six-month contract. (dass... 6 meses na boa vida!!?) Plus, your accommodation will be provided on Hamilton Island. (é só um resort 5 estrelas... uma barraquita qualquer, claro!) And there’s plenty of room if you choose to share your experience with a friend or your family. (ainda podem levar a familia atrás...só para não se sentirem assim sozinhos e sem nada para fazer...ahah!)

Selection Criteria

We’re looking for someone with an adventurous attitude, passion for the outdoors and good communication skills. A broad range of experience is considered and Tourism Queensland will be selecting applicants based on:

- Enthusiasm for the role (ainda existem duvidas de que o pessoal está entusiasmado com a ideia de andar 6 meses a coçar a micose num sitio paradisiaco?)
- Entertainment value (personality and creativity)
- Presentation skills (being media-friendly) (eles querem dizer: "Bonitos"..ehehe)
- At least one year's relevant experience (um ano de experiencia em viajar, snorkling, natação, contacto com pessoas... dificil, não?)

THE OFFICE

In between travelling to various islands of the Great Barrier Reef, the Island Caretaker will live at Blue Pearl, a beautiful three-bedroom home on Hamilton Island featuring stunning views of the Whitsunday Islands, modern facilities and exquisite furnishings.
The bright, airy interior features three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, state-of-the-art entertainment system, ceiling fans, air-conditioning and laundry facilities.

The Island Caretaker will enjoy Blue Pearl’s outdoor areas including a private plunge pool/spa with exceptional views, sun lounges, large balconies and the traditional Aussie barbeque. A golf buggy is also included with the house, so you can explore the island with ease.
This is the best of life above the Great Barrier Reef.
